Centre for Research in New Music (CeReNeM) - University of Huddersfield
CeReNeM's team comprises world-leading artists and academics. Together they bring an interdisciplinary perspective to research into contemporary music performance, composition and new sonic media. The team publish innovative work in the areas of interactive sound design and analysis, spatialisation, improvisation, new notations, musical perception and temporality, intercultural aesthetics and, music and the moving image.
Cultural and creative industries exchange hub – University of Leeds
The sector hub for the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Performance, Visual Arts and Communications (PVAC) provides research services for the development of new products and services for the sector. The University is also home to some unique resources, including the Clothworkers’ Centenary Concert Hall, stage@leeds - the University’s public-licenced theatre complex featuring Stage One (a 180-seat main auditorium) and the Alec Clegg Studio (an 52-seat ‘black box’ studio), and the ULITA textiles archive and myriad exhibition and performance spaces.
Heslington Studios Ltd – University of York
The commercial arm of the Department of Theatre, Film and Television, with £26M invested in a state of the art building incorporating two high definition broadcast quality TV studios, soundproofed black box theatre/shooting stage, 200 seat performance theatre, 140 seat Dolby certified digital cinema, extensive picture and audio finishing facilities and a render farm. All facilities are available for hire with technician support and a full-time commercial manager. The Department works closely with a growing client list of film, TV and video producers including the BBC, Al Jazeera and Green Screen Productions.
Journalism Media Training – Leeds Trinity University
The team has an established reputation for media training and can offer the most basic package though to bespoke course. Examples of courses include the writing of press releases, finding the news in an organisation or community, making social media make sense (a beginner’s guide), radio and TV interview techniques and disaster planning – how to deal with bad news.
Leeds College of Art
The only specialist arts institution in Yorkshire and one of the few remaining independent art colleges in the UK. The College offers expertise in animation, creative advertising, graphic design, interior design, fashion, furniture making, visual communication and photography.
Leeds College of Music
With almost 1,000 full-time and 1,500 part-time students, Leeds College of Music is the only specialist music college to offer both Higher and Further Education courses.
