The purpose of this new and updated Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to further underpin and cement the long-term, strategic partnership between Yorkshire and Humber Councils (YHC) and Yorkshire Universities (YU). The MoU sets out matters of shared interest, reflecting the spirit of co-operation between the two membership-based organisations, who represent local government and higher education, and who enjoy a shared commitment to long term collaboration and to work together in the interests of the Yorkshire region.
The agreement builds on the success to date of the inaugural MoU, signed in 2021. As devolution widens and deepens, and Yorkshire and Humber faces increasing complex and multi-faceted opportunities and challenges, the MoU remains a reflection of YHC and YU’s commitment to their partnership and to developing relationships which complement and grow their regional collaboration.
