The AI Research Development Network (AI.RDN+)
A joint project by the University of Leeds and Aston University has been awarded £3.4m by the Research England Development Fund to set up a network to assess publicly available artificial intelligence (AI) tools for PhD research.
The AI Research Development Network (AI.RDN+) will bring together 20 universities from the Midlands Innovation and Yorkshire Universities to build resources, training and guidance for PhD researchers and those who support them. As part of this four-year project, a national resource base will be co-created to provide practical guidance on the opportunities and challenges AI presents for doctoral researchers.
Dr Peter O’Brien, Yorkshire Universities Executive Director, said:
I am delighted that Yorkshire Universities has supported this proposal, which will be awarded funding by Research England. Supporting students in our region to navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by AI is critical to realising the benefits from the new technologies that are developing and emerging rapidly.
