Universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) throughout Yorkshire and Humber, are frequently engaging with business in a variety of ways. One example of business engagement taking place in the region is at University of Leeds with Little Journey.
Little Journey is a psychological preparation web application that supports children before, during and after healthcare procedures. Sophie Copley, Co Founder and Chief Product Officer at Little Journey, highlights the challenges for her start-up company and the need to gain more knowledge in finance, business models and strategies. The University of Leeds was connected with Little Journey via the Help to Grow Programme. The programme provides fifty-hours of training for new entrepreneurs and new start-up businesses. This initiative supported Little Journey by opening up networks, connecting the business to grant funding and providing a range of information.
